Let’s start with Seth Meyers:
Great to see him back in the studio, even if only with his video crew.
I’m going to kick it a bit old school for a song. Donna Summer had a string of hits when I was a kid and well into my teens. This was one of them:
Some consider it the first EDM song. Aside from the drum and the vocals, the rest of the recording is purely synthesizers. Apparently the process of recording it was a bit complex. Tech advances sorted that out quickly enough. As a result, Donna Summer’s work often gets classified alongside other Eurodisco artists of the very late 1970s. Even now, this seems like a fairly fresh track.
Okay, the bar is open. We’re still working on the jukebox. Give it some time. Drinks are all on the house.
Have a great rest of the week.
Lordy, there are tapes.

This is yet another way to tell how awful the wildfires on the west coast truly are: the smoke has made its way to the upper atmosphere over my corner of Arkansas. We’ve been somewhat overcast, so I really am not able to get any dramatic sunset photos, but it’s noticeable. Not quite on the level of that giant dust cloud from the Sahara earlier this year, but still hard to miss.
There was a reason I was so hypercritical of one of our members who kept invoking the Saker for several years last decade. That site was awful, from its Putin apologist and Crimea invasion apologist perspective, onward.

My personal take is still the same – the red/brown alliance perspective (to the extent that we might still consider red leftist in the anticapitalist sense) was always suspect. And yet idiots fall for it.
