Since we’ll likely be locked in a swirling cycle of frivolity surrounding the ever frivolous notion of using nuclear weapons for only the third time in human history for some time to come, I think it’s high time we got to know the Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator. Luckily, The Union of Concerned Scientists has created a helpful animation to help get those of us who aren’t in the know, up to speed. Not so pretty, but it’s what the wingnuts and war enthusiasts are having wet dreams about these days, so it’s good to stay on top of things. I don’t know about you, but all of this nuclear war frivolity has made me feel as though a koala crapped a rainbow in my brain.
