In My America

We have done everything that we feasibly can to protect our citizens from terrorist attacks.

We do not invade a country that has not posed an imminent threat to us and will have cost us $365 billion by the end of this September – money that could have been spent on securing our borders, safeguarding our ports, improving our cargo security, and increasing funding for our first responders – all the things the 9/11 bi-partisan commission recommended we do, that this Congress and White House have chosen to ignore.

In Bush’s America

Our ports and borders have been left woefully unsecured.

Our fire departments and police officers are in desperate need of additional funding.

Our airlines lack state-of-the-art baggage screening machines and explosive detectors and anti shoulder fired missile defense systems.

Congress has not heeded the recommendations that were in the 9-11 bi-partisan commission report.

And then there’s Bin Ladin, still out there taunting us.  We heard from him just this past week, railing against the United States and threatening us.

How can the greatest nation today, with the most high-tech equipment and trained operatives not find him in four years?

Because it has not been a priority of this administration!

Bush and those congressional members, like Zach Wamp, who voted to turn this country’s attention to Iraq, instead of finishing the job we had started in Afghanistan, have made it easier for Al Qaeda to continue their militant attacks on westerners.

We are certainly not safe with him out there, still able to rally support for his terrorist activities.
