Facts are pesky little devils:
Hardi Priyono, deputy headmaster of the Basuki school in Indonesia, told CNN that his institution — which Obama attended four decades ago, beginning when he was 6 — is not a madrassah.
“This is a public school,” Priyono told CNN correspondent John Vause in Jakarta. “We don’t focus on religion.” Classes in Islam are offered to the predominantly Muslim students at the school, CNN reported.
To re-echo Josh Marshall and Atrios, who exactly at Fox News and The Moonie Times (whose Insight magazine subsidiary published the original “story”), is going to get axed for spreading this unfounded rumor, or at least offer a retraction?
Oh right. I forgot. That rule only applies to when the media attacks Republicans even if the essential basis for the story is true. Instead let’s just blame Clinton for the whole snafu, shall we? Any Clinton will do. Like say, this one.
This is how democracy dies. One lie at a time.
