In a week which saw four mass shootings (five? I’ve lost count, to be honest), Mitch McConnell decided that it would be HILARIOUS to tweet out an image of gravestones commemorating all of the good things he’s killed legislatively — and indicating he’d like the same to happen to his opponent Amy McGrath.
Democrat Amy McGrath, who is running to unseat Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, on Monday criticized the Kentucky Republican for a photo shared by his campaign that showed a gravestone with her name on it.
McConnell’s campaign tweeted the image hours after Saturday’s mass shooting in El Paso, in which 22 people were killed and more than two dozen were wounded. Nine others were killed in a shooting in Dayton, Ohio, early the next morning.
Here’s the image in all its depraved glory, complete with McGrath’s response:
Moscow Mitch and his mouthbreathing thugs tried to portray the whole thing as a joke, but how funny is a joke like that after 29+ people are dead from a mass shooting, using the kind of weapons that McConnell refuses to do anything about? How funny is that joke, when your supporters post pictures of themselves groping and strangling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?
How funny is a “joke” like that when the White Supremacist in Chief is on TV laughing and egging on his supporters when they say they want to shoot immigrants? And what does it say to the survivors of those shootings, other than “go fuck yourselves, I’m glad your loved ones are dead and mangled”?
I used to call gun-humping politicians and say things like “what if it was YOUR daughter/son/grandchild?” But to be honest, after Louisiana’s Steve Scalise almost certainly lost his his dick and balls in a shooting and STILL stood up for the NRA, I realized that the GOP was truly a death cult. So I’m not expecting Mitch to do much about anything, and he’ll likely wave off this latest misstep.
On the other hand, YOU can do something to help Amy McGrath. Drop her a few dollars and help bury Mitch McConnell once and for all.
