Of all the election victories last night, the most satisfying to me was seeing the Dover School Board get ousted after causing the whole Intelligent Design flap. It was good to see Ralph Reed’s strategy of taking over local and county government to advance the Christian Right’s agenda implode. I think this is 2006 in a microcosm: not many people were paying attention when a small group of idealogues and zealots took over, but now that the effects of their actions became apparent, they were out.
In more ways than one, reason triumphed over dogma.
