Faint memories of the true mission leads to lots of discussion in BooMan’s fp story – Greenwald is Controversial, So What? Osama Bin Laden had been very active during the Clinton years 1992-2000 and includes his Declaration of War on the United States in 1996. Somehow, the US President and Congress were pre-occupied with other matters of state and failed to understand the upcoming threat of militant Islam throughout the Middle-East and across South-East Asia: Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The term “blowback” was used in this first article, similar repercussion has been forecast by the US invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003.
NEW YORK (MSNBC) Aug. 24, 1998 — At the CIA, it happens often enough to have a code name: Blowback. Simply defined, this is the term describing an agent, an operative or an operation that has turned on its creators. Osama bin Laden, our new public enemy Number 1, is the personification of blowback. And the fact that he is viewed as a hero by millions in the Islamic world proves again the old adage: Reap what you sow.
But just as surely, there are times when the United States, faced with such moral dilemmas, should have resisted the temptation to act. Arming a multi-national coalition of Islamic extremists in Afghanistan during the 1980s – well after the destruction of the Marine barracks in Beirut or the hijacking of TWA Flight 847 – was one of those times.
BIN LADEN’S BEGINNINGS
As anyone who has bothered to read this far certainly knows by now, bin Laden is the heir to Saudi construction fortune who, at least since the early 1990s, has used that money to finance countless attacks on U.S. interests and those of its Arab allies around the world.
As his unclassified CIA biography states, bin Laden left Saudi Arabia to fight the Soviet army in Afghanistan after Moscow’s invasion in 1979. By 1984, he was running a front organization known as Maktab al-Khidamar – the MAK – which funneled money, arms and fighters from the outside world into the Afghan war.
What the CIA bio conveniently fails to specify (in its unclassified form, at least) is that the MAK was nurtured by Pakistan’s state security services, the Inter-Services Intelligence agency, or ISI, the CIA’s primary conduit for conducting the covert war against Moscow’s occupation.
Osama Bin Laden’s last letter from Abbottabad
This letter is authored by “Abu ‘Abdallah” (Usama bin Ladin), addressed to “Shaykh Mahmud” (`Atiyya) and dated 26 April 2011 – a week before bin Ladin’s death. In it, Bin Ladin outlines his response to the “Arab Spring,” proposing two different strategies. The first strategy pertains to the Arab World and entails “inciting people who have not yet revolted and exhort[ing] them to rebel against the rulers (khuruj `ala al-hukkam)”; the second strategy concerns Afghanistan and it entails continuing to evoke the obligation of jihad there. The letter also makes reference to a wide variety of topics including: the scarcity of communications from Iraq, “the brothers coming from Iran,” and hostages held by “our brothers in the Islamic Maghreb” and in Somalia. The document also briefly discusses Bin Ladin’s sons, his courier, Shaykh Abu Muhammad (Ayman al-Zawahiri), and other individuals of interest.
Osama Bin Laden’s Jihad; its origin, mission and Fatwa
Osama Bin Laden instigated the terror attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. He carried on a crusade against the Americans for having troops in Saudi Arabia, and against the Zionists who occupy Al Quds (Jerusalem). Born in 1957 to a wealthy Saudi Arabian construction magnate, he joined the Afghan Moslem rebels fighting the USSR in 1979. He used his money to recruit an army from around the middle east. Throughout the 1980s, Osama Bin Laden fought the Soviet backed regime, possibly with CIA aid. However, he saw secular, powerful Washington as much an infidel as Moscow. After the war, he returned to Saudi Arabia, , but the Saudi government feared his brand of militant Islam, and stripped him of his Saudi citizenship in April 1994 for “irresponsible behavior.” In Sudan, the country’s Islamic ideologue, Hassan al-Turabi, gave him shelter.
The youths also reciting the All Mighty words of: {so when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks……..} (Muhammad; 47:19).
Those youths will not ask you (William Perry) for explanations, they will tell you singing. “There is nothing between us need to be explained, there is only killing and neck smiting.”
And they will say to you what their grand father, Haroon Ar-Rasheed, Ameer-ul-Mu’meneen, replied to your grandfather, Nagfoor, the Byzantine emperor, when he threatened the Muslims: “from Haroon Ar-Rasheed, Ameer-ul-Mu’meneen, to Nagfoor, the dog of the Romans; the answer is what you will see not what you hear”. Haroon El-Rasheed led the armies of Islam to the battle and handed Nagfoor a devastating defeat.
The youths you called cowards are competing among themselves for fighting and killing you. reciting what one of them said:
The crusader army became dust when we detonated al-Khobar with courageous youth of Islam fearing no danger, If (they are) threatened, “The tyrants will kill you,” they reply, “My death is a victory. I did not betray that king, he did betray our Qiblah. And he permitted in the holy country the most filthy sort of humans. I have made an oath by Allah, the Great, to fight whoever rejected the faith.
For more than a decade, they carried arms on their shoulders in Afghanistan and they have made vows to Allah that as long as they are alive, they will continue to carry arms against you until you are -Allah willing- expelled, defeated and humiliated, they will carry on as long as they live saying:
O William, tomorrow you will know which young man is confronting your misguided brethren! A youth fighting in smile, returning with the spear coloured red.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
