A friend of mine wrote this in an email, and I am going to post it since it mirrors my state of mind regarding this whole Aruba tabloid crapfest:

The over coverage of this no longer news worthy item is now showing the ignorance and the arrogance of the uninformed. I saw a group on TV today demanding that the FBI take over the investigation in Aruba. I guess someone forgot to inform them that Aruba is an independent sovereign nation and not under either Dutch or US rule. These are the kind if people who give us a bad name all over. They are stupid people. Not for being uninformed but for failing to inform themselves before shooting off their mouths. Hick is the best way to describe their mentality. One must realize that ignorance+arrogance=stupidity.

Aruba has its own police force and they can surely do the real detection work better than the FBI or the Dutch officials. They know their country. Next the law is totally different their than in the US or Holland. If the evidence is not uncovered and presented by the Aruban police authorities it us unadmissable as evidence. The FBI has far from a perfect record at home. What makes one think they can do better than the Arubans? Ditto for the Dutch police. Both the FBI and the Dutch police are providing Aruba with forensics and logistics. That’s is as far as it goes by law. Neither the FBI nor the Ditch police have compained about their role. It is people like cable news pig pundits who are stirring up the s*** and just to get ratings. Do outsiders think the Arubans are too stupid and unsophisticated to do a good job. Almost smells of racism to me. If the parents of this girl acted to the police in Alabama they way they are said to be acting towards the Aruban police they would find theselves in deep dreck. Don’t F with the cops no matter where. It would be better if we all shut the hell up and let the Aruban police do their job.
