Representative Steve King of Iowa appears to be following the upcoming elections in the Netherlands quite closely. There’s reason to believe that Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom may come in first place, although that wouldn’t mean that they’d be able to form a government.

Here’s what Wilders sounds like on the campaign trail:

“There is a lot of Moroccan scum in Holland who makes the streets unsafe,” Wilders said at a campaign appearance in the town of Spijkenisse, where he spoke in English to drive home his message to his broad new international audience.

“I have one message to the Dutch people, and that is, if you want to regain your country, if you want to make the Netherlands for the people of the Netherlands,” he said, “then you can only vote for one party.”

Here’s what Rep. Steve King thinks about that rhetoric:

There’s really nothing legal and proper that you can do with “other people’s babies.” But it’s interesting that Steve King things that babies of any sort can restore civilization.

He must be operating on a variety of assumptions, such as one where you can fix societal problems by having more babies than people of other races and religions. Of course, you can also kill more of their babies than they kill of yours, which would seem to work almost as well.  Or, you can deport people before they have babies or, if you act too late to accomplish that, you can deport them and their babies.

All of these strategies are consistent with King’s political philosophy. And his political philosophy is gaining popularity at an alarming rate both here and in Europe.

World War Two’s lessons are being forgotten.
