The recent stories about the Supreme Court make those of us on the left realize that the Judicial Branch has been totally taken over by the right wingnuts.
We need to put a restraint on these fascists.
Events have conspired to put a tool into our hands.
Judge Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as a judge on the “second Supreme Court”, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. This is a very important part of the court system.
During his confirmation hearing, he was asked specifically if participated in discussions in the WH about the detainee policy of the Bush Administration. He replied that he had NOT participated in this policy discussion.
It now appears that this was a total lie. He could have done several things to keep his testimony accurate:
- Asked to have a day to check his records.
- Replied that he did participate in such discussions.
- Refused to answer.
He did none of these things, choosing to lie to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
He should be impeached for lying to the Senate.
This action, which should be initiated immediately, would have a salutory effect on other judges, like that scumbag in Alabama who politically prosecuted the Democratic governor.
