U.S. Senate

In the Democratic primary, there are three candidates, by far the best of whom is Barbara Ann Radnofsky, 49, of Houston. Radnofsky, a partner with Vinson & Elkins, one of the state’s largest law firms, is focused on health care reform, wants a timetable to get out of Iraq, says Bush broke the law on domestic spying, hates the border fence proposal and is strong on military defense. She’s articulate, confident and, given some financial help, could prove a worthy challenger this fall.

But the Democratic nominee will face probably the most popular, or at least the least controversial, statewide political figure, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, 62, who is unopposed in the GOP primary.

I have met Barbara on several occasions.  I am impressed with the answers I have gotten about issues that are of importance to Liberals. I think she is a good candidate and could actually win with the full support of the Liberals in the state.
