Richard Armitage has now come out and said that he was the man who leaked Valerie Plame Wilson’s name to Robert Novak, causing her career to come to a halt, and start the Patrick Fitzgerald investigation.
Armitage says he is now sorry to all the people involved. He “screwed up”.
Sorry Richard, apologizing now is not good enough. You sir should be facing charges of treason for outing a covert CIA agent.
Valerie Plame’s career is over because of you. 20 years spent in the CIA are now out the window simply because you couldn’t keep your mouth shut, and told nutsy Novak who she was. Sir, you put this country through hell for years, and severely compromised national security simply because Joe Wilson had the audacity to question Bush’s war.
You are just damn lucky you are not in a cell with striped sunlight, wearing an orange jumpsuit with black little numbers across your chest. This is just another example of how far the right will go to smear anyone who doesn’t fall in lock step with Bush’s killing war.
The sad thing about it is in the right wing blogosphere, Armitage is now going to be considered a hero. This man is no hero. Mark Felt was a hero, Armitage should be brought up on charges, and locked away for life.
