We can be the barbarians who crash the gates of malfeasance and regain the high ground for our citizenry.

We are the gathering storm, and they have no protection for the overwhelming wrath of reality that is ours to rain down upon them.

As the snippet I use for a sig line promises to respond to a challenge with a fury as unmatched in strength as it is in reason, so too can we infuse our determination to cut through the rising tides of propaganda to the reach and empower the people who have been subject to the relentlessly crashing waves of deception.
Do not go gently into that good night — rage, rage against the dying light (of liberty). Walk softly, carry a big stick, and play liberal whack-a-mole every time another subterranean rat dares raise its head to spread its filth.
The battle must be won before the fighting begins — know, in your minds, that this is our time to persevere and emerge victorious.
Like flash mobs appearing out of nowhere, we can swarm all over issues. We can formulate ad-hoc plans, group and organize and execute to strike back. Let’s put more wheels into motion and boots on the ground; those who can’t help physically can put their mental and artistic skills to work to counter propaganda.
We have to fight for those who cannot. We must fight for those who will not. We must fight on behalf of all the other citizens who have fallen prey to the koolaid, to the lies, to the deceptions, to the fear.
“We are our own worst enemy” in terms of a society, in that we — as a nation — have allowed this situation to grow out of control far too long. “We” are not all responsible, and yet “we” were not nearly as organized then as we are now, and hopefully we are not nearly as organized now as we will be over the next 8 weeks and beyond.

We can no longer assume that the rest of the nation will awaken in time.
We must strike out, in strength, in multiple key areas.
Markos is marshalling forces along with others to manage the election cycles. That’s important. It’s the core.
Others — like those building “The Path Since 9-11″ — are making strident inroads against blatant (and possibly illegal) propaganda funded by our own worst enemy: the self-appointed, self-righteous hypocrites of the radical right, our own “American Taliban” on steroids.
We know there are other players. There are other grand marshals and strategists. And at this point, they are playing for far more than merely money or power — many are now fighting for their very lives, as they see the hour of accountability draw near. They know — they KNOW — that if they lose, they will have to pay the piper for their deeds.
They do not know that they’re going to win. They only know that their survival literally depends upon it. Theirs. Not ours. Not our nation. They only care about their own survival, especially now. It’s always been about them and their own interests.
That’s the key.
They don’t know that they are going to win. We must know that we will — and win spectacularly. Before the fighting even gets underway.
They are building a massive propaganda onslaught.
We can put up the people to do the same.
I’ve broached this topic before: I need some creative folks to help with several items. Some images (pics, drawins, artwork — new, or scoured from the four corners), some audio (new, or scoured tunes, or helping me get new lyrics recorded for parodies), some Flash (I can do some, I can also take OpenOffice slideshows or PowerPoint slideshows and “flashify” them). There are projects afoot that need to be quietly worked on then released, anonymously or virally or both, that will help undermine the propaganda wave before it even begins to build.
Regardless of whether folks can help directly, we’ll also need to know who’d be willing to help get the word out under the radar.
On top of all the things we need to do as a collective community, simply to stay alive and try to manage this election cycle while preparing for those upcoming, I’m plopping this request and knowing that it’s unlikely to garner a lot of takers.
But I’m asking anyway. And if I need to, I’ll continue go it alone. My chance of having a wide impact will be greatly diminished; the amount of the anti-spin items I’ve identified and planned will be far less, due to not having certain skills or access; my invovement in other activities will be reduced to nearly nil, but we need this.
