I take it to mean that they are telling LIES:

“For them to run an ad that doesn’t basically present an accurate record of their positions on issues. I think, should raise some issues on how they would run an administration,” said Obama, referring to the ad where the claim is made that Palin was behind canceling Bridge To Nowhere funding.

He points out that there is virtually no difference between McCain/Palin and the Bush Administration in their stance on issues by referencing a Tom Tolls cartoon in the Washington Post:

Olbermann brought up Harry Truman (who, you might remember, was thought to have no chance against Dewey and the Republicans) and his applicable question: “How many more times do you have to be hit over the head till you figure out who’s hitting you?”

“It’s our job to press the point and make the case,” said Obama, and it looks like this is the direction the campaign will take.

However, as my wife said to me this morning, the people who need to have their opinions changed by the truth are not watching Olbermann, and by keeping Palin away from the press (except for an apparently stacked interview with Charles Gibson coming up Thursday and Friday on ABC – timed with both the anniversary of 9/11 and Palin’s son shipping off to Iraq on 9/12 … not 9/11 as she has been saying… which will no doubt have very soft questions) it is hard to see how the truth will reach the necessary audience.

As a blogger, I don’t know how far I can reach, either (although I’ve had a couple of replies that have credited some of my postings with contributions made to Obama’s campaign.) There is also a right-wing blogosphere which is promoting the same McCain/Palin falsehoods that their campaign is spreading. This is going to be a difficult and hard-fought two months.
