The Bush-crew isn’t doing too well in the job market after the end of their regime. You have all seen the headlines the last week. Previous Bush appointees are having trouble finding employment.

Bush himself just turned down an offer to be greeter at a Texas chain store.

Described as part-time, the job would have left Mr Bush time to work on his presidential library and write about his two terms at the White House.

Oh, yes, the library – how is that going by the way?

Searching for Bush’s library foundation online? Good luck! All the while, fundraising does not meet targets. It is reported that meeting the $500 million is unlikely. Local support is also much reduced.

What else can an ex-president do? Speeches! Give speeches. That’s how President Clinton made $40 million in 6-7 years.
So, how is Bush being “sold”? He is exclusively represented by Washington Speakers Bureau.

Timesonline reports this morning that Bush is about to embark on a lucerative speaking tour in Canada, Europe and Asia.

He will deliver his first speech on March 17 in Calgary, Canada. It will be held in a convention centre before a mostly business audience, and the press will not be allowed to attend. The brochure promoting it reads: “President during a period of great consequence, George W Bush shares thoughts on his eight momentous years in the Oval Office and discusses the challenges facing the world in the 21st century.”

Who the hell would pay good money to hear this war criminal’s advice? The article predicts that Bush will have trouble in commanding fees similar to those of Clinton. But Bush needs to pay back! To all of us, to society. Not collect speaking fees for sharing his criminal mind.

The article only mentions that one, specific engagement in Calgary, Canada. There are no specifics of a tour to Europe and Asia. And where would he be welcome? The list of ‘Countries that will miss George Bush’ is quite brief outside of Africa.

Sadly, I followed the link to the WSB page promoting W (linked above) and found the pitch.
Warning: Make sure your stomach is fortified before proceeding!

President during a momentous period in American history, George W. Bush offers his thoughts on eight years in the Oval Office, the challenges facing our nation in the 21st century, the power of freedom, the role of faith, and other pressing issues.
[…]
His policies, while controversial at times, kept the country safe for more than seven years and liberated more than 50 million people from tyranny.

And then this whopper:

Working with leaders in Congress and elsewhere, President Bush also raised standards and accountability in public education, added a prescription drug benefit to Medicare that helped more than 40 million beneficiaries, improved air quality and made America’s energy supply more secure, designated more ocean area habitats for environmental protection than any predecessor, launched historic efforts to fight HIV/AIDS and malaria in Africa, and strengthened America’s relationships with strategically important nations like India, China and Japan.

Attaching the words ‘accountability’, ‘raised standards’ and ‘secure energy supply’ with the work of the Bush crime syndicate should be illegal – unless in the context of a comprehensive indictment against him and his cronies. An d if he ventures into Europe, I hope someone has the courage to apprehend him and ship him off to the Hague.
