On this day in 1966, John Lennon made the fateful decision to attend Yoko Ono’s art exhibition ‘Unfinished Paintings and Objects’ at the Indica Gallery in London. Before long they had become the king and queen of the hippies and in September 1969 John announced he was leaving the Beatles. After he wrote Instant Karma! in January 1970, he got Phil Specter to come out of retirement to produce it in the studio. When it was released as a single ten days later, Yoko had the B Side.
