(I wrote a comment on Booman’s post today (Wed., 6/20/18) Beyond the Pale of any Acceptable Human Conduct. I am posting here as a standalone article. Read on.)

Booman’s article concluded:

This [accelerating pace of insanity] cannot continue. And it won’t. Donald Trump, very obviously, has gone insane. He’s out there operating without any decent restraint, totally beyond the pale of any acceptable human conduct. And he is still in the field commanding troops. His dealings with North Korea and Russia are no more sane or less damaging that his dealings with asylum seekers and border crossers and their children.

People are already fleeing the White House; half his campaign is indicted, cooperating, in jail or waiting to be indicted. If Congress is the last to know how this will end, so be it. They will know soon enough.

The old saw “Like rats leaving a sinking ship” is perfectly applicable here.

We will know when the Mueller investigation is about to strike true presidential paydirt…if indeed it ever does…when a large number of Trump staffers all leave within a relatively short period of time. The word will inevitably filter down from Mueller headquarters to Trump staffers before it appears in the headlines of the major centrist media. (In today’s DC, even the “non-leakers” leak when push comes to shove. Bet on it.)

The following description of how and why rats are the first to know when a ship is going down transfers very nicely to the current White House. (Emphasis mine.)

During the first century A.D. Pliny the Elder wrote in his Natural History that “when a building is about to fall down, all the rats desert it.” A more modern proverb suggests that rats always leave a sinking ship.

This proverbial phenomenon has been observed for centuries and led to the belief that rats possess some mystical power to anticipate disaster. A dread warning that a ship would be making its final voyage was foretold if rats were seen scurrying off the ship before it sailed. In The Tempest, Shakespeare described the boat on which the duke and his infant daughter had been set adrift as so unseaworthy that “the very rats instinctively have quit it.”

It is not unusual for rats to leave a ship in great columns or masses if it is sinking. Therefore the sight of hordes of rats scurrying to upper decks of a ship might suggest to fellow passengers that the ship is on its way down. This has nothing to do with the rat’s extrasensory perception or powers of prognostication but with its awareness of what is happening at that very moment.

Being burrow dwellers by nature, rats live in the deepest recesses of the ship, in the bilge. This area is so low as to be almost inaccessible to the sailors. Thus the rats become aware of water entering the ship some time before the crew is alerted. As their nesting places are flooded, the rodents are impelled to flee the ship. Their continuous shrill cries of alarm quickly summon the rest of the rats from the hold. They build up into a large, frightened mass of rodents making a panicky exodus. This is, of course, a final calamity for the rats, since they will try to swim to eternity and usually do.

—snip—

The White House is now a totally reversed version of what it has been considered to be by the U.S.population for hundreds of years….a place where the highest officials in the government reside, make policy and rule. As with the rest of Donald Trump’s value system, up is now down and down is up. Therefore…like rats living in the bilge of a ship…White House staffers now live in the lowest part of the government, at least in terms of honor or truthfulness. They will be the first to see the water accumulating around their feet, and in true “Feets, do your stuff!!!” manner, they will start a stampede to get out and onto higher ground.

Not yet, though.

Watch.

Soon, I’m thinking.

Or at least wishing.

The bolded part of the above quote is wrong in only one sense. “Their continuous shrill cries of alarm quickly summon the rest of the rats from the hold. They build up into a large, frightened mass of rodents making a panicky exodus. This is, of course, a final calamity for the rats, since they will try to swim to eternity and usually do.”

In true DC Revolving Door fashion, all but the most guilty of these rats will not drown. Instead they will find shelter in the depths of the Deep State from whence they came.

And the swamp will maintain.

Watch.

Later…

AG

P.S. Not since the Nixon White House has there ever been this execrable a collection of swamp rats in positions of power. Not even during Bush II’s reign.

UGH!!!

P.P.S. Below you will find yet another attack post from the entity oaguabonita. Read my sole answer to these repeated attacks, if you have not done so already. It is the only one that entities like this will ever get. Life is too short to fruitlessly try to refute them. I know…I’ve tried. Read what I have to say; consider what they have to say and how it is said, and then make up your own minds. Thank you-AG

A group…perhaps better, a cadre…of people on this site have tried everything in their power to discourage criticism of the Democratic Party as it stands today. They automatically downrate such posts and have endlessly attacked several posters as liars, pro-Trump trolls and/or spreaders of Russian propaganda. When effectively rebutted, they simply ignore the rebuttal and repeat the same attacks. This tactic is intended to exhaust the patience of the attacked posters and discourage others from reading or posting similar material. It has worked on a few posters, who have simply given up. It has not worked on me. I initially answered their attacks with attempts at reason. After realizing that this was a total waste of time, I simply stopped replying to them. My comments and articles on this site are my replies. Read what I have to say; consider what they have to say and how it is said, and then make up your own minds. Thank you-AG
