A year ago Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. Do you remember? It was supposed to be such great news for the Republicans (and maybe Hillary Clinton) because only they had the experience to deal with international crises. Funny how things turn out. Isn’t it?
Now it’s a year later and Pakistan is worse off than it was back then, with rumors of war and Pakistani troop movements all the rage. Meanwhile, the Taliban and Al Qaeda have been reinvigorated as Pakistan’s military abandons what little support it was giving America in the “War on Terror” to deal with it’s confrontation with India.
I forget. Who was our President over the last year? Can anyone recall? And did he do anything to improve Pakistan’s deteriorating political and socio-economic situation? I’m sure someone knows the answer . . .
