I dropped the political nightmare for a day to go see Furthur tonight. They played well, but the stultifying heat left the crowd, including me, lacking in energy. Did I mention it was hot? I haven’t sweated so much in my entire life. Right now, I’m sitting on my patio in the middle of the woods on top of a hill and there is no wind, it’s still 82 degrees, and we have 78 percent humidity. I fear the weather may be like gas prices. We’ll never get back to the way it was. Philly concert venues need to start buying the kind of misting equipment they use in the South. We are not used to sub-tropical weather. The past two days have been the most oppressively hot days I have ever experienced, anywhere, including in Arizona and Death Valley, California. Regardless of what Rush Limbaugh says, the heat index is too damn hot.
